Won the Imperial College London Writing Competition of 2012, winning £2000 for writing an essay about scientific literacy in politics, and am subsequently worked with the Right Honorable Professor Lord Robert Winston to develop a media program about communication of climate change to the public.
Invited to attend the prestigious 2015 Marine Geoscience Leadership Symposium in Washington D.C., meeting with congressional staffers and Senator Sheldon Whitehouse to discuss the importance of marine science and climate change.
Lead proponent and chair on a full-day session at AGU 2014, Cenozoic through Modern Climate and Glacial Records and Processes at High-Latitude Margins, attended by dozens of world leading field experts in paleoclimatology.

Outreach activities:
Won £500 from the Wellcome Trust outreach program ‘I’m a scientist, get me out of here’ to spend on outreach activities in 2012
One of two principal developers of the first dedicated Geoscience outreach program at Imperial College London: Earthclass, which has invited over 200 young people aged between 14 and 16 to learn about Earth Sciences and Engineering into the University, and has since been established as a permanent event.
Awarded £250 from the Engineering and Physical Research Council to fund outreach activities.
Worked as a paid consultant for a Climate Change exhibition at the Science Museum in London.
Teaching:
Helped to develop and supervise a research program for an advanced Masters-level student at Imperial College, focusing on reconstructing the Oligocene history of Antarctica’s ice sheets.
Designed and taught a practical in the advanced Masters-level Paleoceanography course at Imperial College London on building marine sediment core age models.
Environmental campaigning:
Established and managed a new environmental impact and sustainability group at the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Florida, to help employees reduce their personal and professional impact on the environment , the Geo-Green Team
